  • Open your web browser and look into the HP Support home site. Enter your printer model name in the search box and tap on the search icon.
  • Tap the Software, Drivers, and Firmware option. In the next window, click on the change option and select your computer operating system as Windows and version as Windows XP (32 bit).
  • The full feature driver that supports your printer model and computer appear with the download option. Click on the download option to download the full feature driver software.
  • Also, install the HP Print and Scan Doctor on your Windows XP machine. Run the downloaded driver software from the browser download path and follow the installation steps shown on the screen to complete the installation.
  • Install the HP Print and Scan Doctor software on your XP computer.
  • Open the Control Panel and find the Devices and Printers option under Hardware and Sounds Menu.
  • Find the list of the printers installed on your computer, remove all the other printers except the printer. Set your Deskjet 1112 printer as the default and add it to the printer queue.
  • If still the printer is not installed, check if the computer and printer are connected to the same network. If it differs, connect both to the same network connection. Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor application or the troubleshooting application to detect the issues and find the resolution on its own.
