Printing on Cardstock | How to print

  • If you want to print Postcards, business cards, catalogues, etc., then you can use the cardstock to print with your HP printer.
  • Since its thick, printing on cardstocks can be slightly complicated.
  • Initially, the paper tray should be adjusted and set properly.
  • Then, navigate to the Devices and Printers option and choose Paper Handling under it.
  • Go to the Tray menu, scroll down and choose Cardstock or Heavy option to print on cardstocks.
  • The next step is to modify the Printer Settings.
  • Open the Print Dialog box by clicking on the Print option.
  • Go to the Properties tab and set Cardstock as the Paper Quality.
  • Click the OK option. Load cardstocks in the input tray.
  • Do not overload the tray above its specified capacity.
  • Align the cardstocks before placing them.
  • Take a test print. If you fail to adjust the paper settings, then the output quality will be lower than expected.
  • The output size and color will not be satisfactory. Your printer and the level of ink will face difficulties in printing since the settings were not set correctly.
  • The amount of ink to be used depends mainly on the thickness of the paper.
  • Other factors that influence this issue are the texture of the paper used, opaqueness, and the material of the paper that you use.
  • Based on the quality or type of prints you want, the media and print settings should be modified.
  • Check the manual provided to you at the time of printer purchase to set the media settings.
